ACT 201: From Approach to Application

This 3-hour CEU workshop is an intermediate course on ACT,  designed for mental health clinicians wanting to learn clinical applications for Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). An adjunct to the foundational ACT 101 course, this workshop delves deeper into ACT for conceptualization and intervention with adults. This includes, but is not limited to, ACT skills for therapists, cultivating a therapeutic alliance, formulating an approach, framing problems, and clinical intervention.  As such, it is recommended that attendees complete the ACT 101 workshop and/or other foundational course(s) in ACT addressing: the philosophical underpinnings (relational frame theory and functional contextualism), major theoretical constructs, seminal theorists, therapeutic processes, and cultural implications. There is also the likelihood that attendees will engage hands on, experiential learning exercises as related to workshop materials.
