ACT 101: From Paradox to Approach

This 3-hour CEU workshop introduces mental health clinicians to fundamentals of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Designed as an introductory course, this workshop delves into core philosophical, theoretical, and conceptual keystones of ACT.  In doing so, participants learn central constructs, seminal theorists, therapeutic processes, mechanisms for change, cultural implications, and empirical findings associated with ACT.  Additionally, and while not the intended focus of the module, ACT interventions are introduced with the intent of encouraging further study. Finally, participants are provided resources for further training and professional development within the model.
